The Story of PASTA BASTA
It all started with a trip to Italy and a serious case of interior design frustration. I was hunting for a truly special light object for my home — something with personality, warmth, and a spark of fun. I searched boutique shops, design galleries, and tiny hidden stores… and found absolutely nothing.
But, as it often happens, the best ideas arrive when you stop looking.
One sunny afternoon in Portofino, sitting at a cozy restaurant near the harbour, I was absentmindedly twirling spaghetti on my fork, playing with shapes on my plate, and daydreaming. That’s when the pasta on my plate began to take on a life of its own — curling, looping, dancing — and suddenly, I saw them: candle holders. Silly, sculptural, spaghetti-inspired candle holders.
The waiter came over, saw the mess on my plate, and asked with a grin, “Pasta finito?”
I laughed and shouted, “PASTA BASTA!”
Everyone around me laughed too — and in that moment, the name and the concept were born.
Now, each PASTA BASTA candle holder is handmade with love and a pinch of Italian mischief. They’re inspired by the spontaneity of a perfect meal, the warmth of good company, and the magic that happens when you stop taking design (and dinner) too seriously.
